It would be interesting to know the salaries of Indian cricketers from both BCCI and IPL contracts.
It is a fact that the BCCI ( Board of Control for Cricket in India) is the richest body cricket body globally. As a result, the salary of Indian cricket players from BCCI annually is unbelievably high.
Particularly, an Indian cricketer participating in all three different formats regularly earns a huge amount of money in terms of annual salary as well as per match fee. Even if a player isn’t a part of the playing XI, they can still earn half of the match fee as a part of the squad member.
Recently, BCCI categorized a total number of 30 cricketers, by granting them contracts with four different grades such as Grade A+, Grade A, Grade B and Grade C.
Interestingly, you can find top Indian cricketers like Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Jasprit Bumrah and Ravindra Jadeja in the Grade A+ category, by earning a lucrative annual salary of INR 7 crores from BCCI per year.
Shockingly, the rising talents like Sarfaraz Khan and Dhruv Jurel haven’t been included under any IPL or BCCI contract.
At the same time, certain players were excluded from the BCCI central contract. It is because a cricketer has been injured, aiming to regain fitness or out of the national cricket team for a long time for various reasons.
It would be interesting to know the salaries of Indian cricketers from both BCCI and IPL contracts. Also, it is important to know that the salaries of Indian players are considered based on the annual figures since there aren’t any contracts on a per-month or per-match basis.

Additionally, Cheteshwar Pujara who is participating in County Championship 2024 representing Sussex, is excluded from the BCCI central contract along with these players
Previously, Ishan Kishan was in Grade C whereas Shreyas Iyer was in Grade B. However, these cricketers still have the chance to play for the Indian cricket team and the selection depends upon the clearance of the fitness test. Furthermore, these players would receive only a match fee that varies according to the format of the game.
In other words, if Ishan and Shreyas make a comeback, they won’t be considered for the contract renewal.
